Assignment6
When I was more younger than now, I always felt unpleasant and depressed when some problems occurred. However, as I got older, of course I am unpleasant when problems happen, I realized that the situation would change someday. The bad situation would not continue forever.
As long as human live, we have ups and downs. Therefore just being depressing is useless and it's better to consider the way to get over the problem.
There is my favorite phrase related to this attitude towards problems, that is, "Sunny days will come someday". I forgot where I learned this words, but I try to always have this words in my mind and to being optimistic.
This is my core beliefs about problems and obstacles.

Assignment5
In my team, many members often tell jokes and humors, so I always laugh while being in the team.
Of course, we are very serious while playing, but I think it's good way to feel relax by telling jokes and laughing before and after playing.
What's more, we always look for chances to celebrate the "small wins" during the game.
For example, every time we score a goal, all the members, not only players but also substitutes and audiences, gathered and celebrate one goal.
I think it's most exciting time and by celebrating, every member's enthusiasm to win increases .

Assignment4
In my soccer team when I was a high school student, we decided to discuss if we have any problems, and that's one reason we had good teamwork.
I think it is good that we often had a meeting, so every team members had a chance to speak out.
Also, the leader(captain) of the team was good because she tried hard to understand what each members thought on team. She often talked to members one on one.
Though conflicts sometimes happened, we got over them by discussing the issue together, so I think it's important to talk openly when we have conflicts.

Writing Assignmtnt 3
As you know, when we play some sports, we make some mistakes like an error in baseball games. The responsibility of the mistake is quite big especially in teamsports because only one mistake can lead the team to lose the game.
In fact, when I was the member of a basketball team in my Jr. highschool, the other members except me were better players than me. I ofetn made mistakes in games and felt guilty that the team lost because of me.
I ofetn got into a so-called slump, which I felt so depressed that I couldn't play well at all.
However, one day my coach said to me, "Everyone makes mistakes and you have next chances even if you make mistakes, so never mind during the game."
After that I decided to change the way of reacting to mistakes. When I made mistakes, I tried to make up for it by performing a good play. And then I got able to play without being afraid of making mistakes.
Also, although I didn't have good skills of basketball compared with other teammates, I have a confidence in my stamina, so I tried to make use of it. I kept runnnig hard unitl the end of the game though other mambers got exhausted around the end of the game.
I thought that was one of the contributions to the team.
After changing my thought, I could recover from my slump naturally.
I larned that thinking too much about mistakes and only getting depressed was meaningless, and the atitude that trying to learn from mistakes and see the next chances were important.
I think this is true for other situations other than sports.
I'm afraid that my reaction is not the answer expected in Expedition Log, but this is what came to my mind after reading chapter 4.
I'm sorry to post late.

Writing Assignment2
I have experienced many setbacks through my life and every time I faced with them, I talked to myself and managed to get over them. I think "Self-talk" is quite important because it can reassure me and make me confident.
The situation which I talk to myself most is when I play some sports. I have played basketball, soccer, and ultimate Frisbee, and I've experienced a lot of important official games.
Before the game starts, I often get so nervous that I can't play well in the game.
In order to avoid that situation, I keep saying to myself that "I can do it, Just do my own best."
By doing so, I can be confident and play as well as I do in daily practice.
Also during the game, I often talk to myself. The most difficult situation in the game is that we are losing and so exhausted that I do not have enough energy to turn the game around.
At that time, I keep reminding myself that 'Never give up! Never give up!' and then, somehow, I get energetic. In fact, I actually came from behind and win many times.
By these experience in sports, I learned that no matter how bad situation I was in, I could changed it into good way if I think positively.
I know I will not be able to change everything, but what's important is that never giving up and trying to overcome difficulties I face with.

Writing Assignment 1
As Ken said, it was difficult for me now to envision my future like post ICU , but I tried doing that.
Long-Term Vision
Since I was little, I have always thought that I would like to contribute to making the world without poverty. However, it seemed that working at the International Institutes such as the United Nations and the World Bank (International Bank for Reconstruction and Development) was quite a big dream for me, and working as a staff of NGO seemed also hard because that does not always make my life easy. And then I found so-called “new-mark”, which is to find the way that corporations can solve the problem of the world through the business.
Therefore my long-term vision is, though it is uncertain, getting a job after graduating ICU. After acquiring the skills working there, I would like to be the person who can make use of the company’s ability to contribute to solving the problems while the company is developing. In order to be such person, many kinds of skills would be necessary. For example, the ability to find the problem and solve it, to come up with the ideas, and to lead the organization with strong will, I want to learn the leadership skill in this Sophomore English course.
Short-Term goal
As I mentioned in “Long-Term Vision”, I am interested in how corporations have to do with the worldwide problems such as poverty and environmental problems, and I am thinking that making my major Developing Studies. However, there is requirement related to grades to select that major and therefore my Short-Term Goal is to get the grade which meets that requirement. In this semester, I take two courses of developing studies and I have to get good grades of them.
In order for that I have to be able to keep up with classes, so I should read required readings before every class, ask questions to teachers actively, and fulfill the assignments in time. The one assignment is Group Work and we are going to analyze the relation between corporations, which consider the worldwide problem, and NGO. We will actually visit and talk with them, so I am looking forward it. Everyone in the group is highly motivated, and they stimulate me to work hard.
I am busy in this semester because I have club activity and part-time job so it may not be easy to get good grades, but I will try hard with good time management.
